Coconut chutney


Ingredients:
1 cup grated coconut,1 tablespoon daliya,1 teaspoon minced ginger,2 table spoon chopped cilantro(coriander leaves),1 teaspoon tamarind,1/2 teaspoon cumin seed powder,3-4 cashews(pieces),1 teaspoon urad daal(spilt black gram),1 tablespoon oil,2 whole red chilies,cumin and mustard seeds,5-6 curry leaves,pinch of hing (asafetida),salt to taste.

Time:25-30 mins.

Method:

1.Grate the coconut,take it in the grinder add daliya,cashews,ginger,tamarind,coriander leaves,cumin seed powder and salt add little water,grind together to paste(don't make very fine paste,it should be coarse).Take it out and keep aside.
2.Now keep one pan on medium heat for making tempering,add oil when it will become hot add mustard seed,cumin seed,whole red chilies,stir once add urad daal,saute for a while,add curry leaves,stir once and add hing(asafetida),stir once and pour this 'tadka' on coconut paste,mix nicely.
Serve this coconut chutney with Idli-sambhar,uttapam,dosa orIf you like, you can include it in your daily meal too.
