Chhole
Hmmm..........you don't have any veggies and at the same time guests arrive at your home this is the quick recipe to make them happy and keep your impression too.This is my all time favourite if I don't have any vegetable and It's very easy to make........take a look............
Ingredients:
1 cup chhole or kabuli chana(white chickpeas),3 cups water,2 tomatoes,1 onion,1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste,cumin seed,3-4 tablespoon oil.
1 tablespoon cumin seed powder,1 tablespoon coriander powder,1/2 spoon red chili powder,1/2 teaspoon turmeric,1 tablespoon garam masala,cilantro(coriander),salt to taste.
Time:30 mins.
Method:
1.Soak kabuli chana in lukewarm water for 8-10 hrs.Take it out and cook in pressure cooker for 4-5 whistles or until it becomes soft.keep it aside,don't throw the remaining water we will use it in our gravy.
2.Now let's start to make masala,take one pan and keep it on medium to high heat.Add oil when it will become hot add cumin seed,let them splutter.Add finely chopped onion fry it to golden brown,add ginger-garlic paste saute it for 2 mins.,now add finely chopped tomatoes and stir it for 5 mins.To this mixture add turmeric give one stir,now add red chili,cumin and coriander powder give another quick stir and add cooked chana(white chickpeas) and water(quantity of water is up to you).stir thoroughly,add garam masala stir well and let it cook for 5-10 min on medium heat so that flavor of masala will come in chana and you will get nice gravy.
3.Finally garnish with cilantro(coriander leaves) and serve with chapati.This dish tastes good with puri and bhature as well.

Tip:You can use canned white chickpeas too which will save time of soaking in water and if you want to make it urgent.
